It is amazing that many good golfers are also good tennis players and we
found out recently that many are also tennis collectors.
The game of tennis came out of the in door courts in
the form of lawn tennis around 1880 and soon the major racket makers were
Spalding ,Wright and Ditson and Wilson. The long nosed club of tennis
collecting is the lop sided tennis racket shown below and the spliced head
era of golf was the flat top period of tennis rackets and in the 1920s when
golf clubs were switching to steel shafts , tennis rackets went to steel
with the Dayton steel racket of 1924, 1925 and 1926 |
